On this twenty-eighth day of Ramadan, as we eagerly anticipate Eid-ul-Fitr, let’s explore the beautiful Sunnah practices of Eid. Celebrating Eid in accordance with the Sunnah allows us to experience the true joy and blessings of this special occasion.

The Significance of Eid Sunnah:

  • Following the Prophet’s Example: Adhering to the Sunnah of Eid allows us to emulate the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
  • Increased Blessings: Following the Sunnah brings increased blessings and rewards from Allah (SWT).
  • Spiritual Connection: It enhances our spiritual connection with Allah (SWT) and strengthens our faith.
  • Unity and Community: Sunnah practices promote unity and strengthen the bonds within our community.
  • Expressing Gratitude: It’s a way to express our gratitude to Allah (SWT) for the blessings of Ramadan.

Sunnah Practices of Eid:

  • Ghusl (Ritual Bath): Performing Ghusl before Eid prayer is a Sunnah.
  • Wearing Best Clothes: Wearing your best clothes, preferably new or clean ones, is a Sunnah.
  • Applying Perfume: Applying perfume is a Sunnah.
  • Eating Dates: Eating dates before going for Eid prayer is a Sunnah.
  • Takbeerat: Reciting Takbeerat (Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillahil hamd) on the way to and from Eid prayer is a Sunnah.
  • Eid Prayer in Congregation: Praying Eid prayer in congregation is a Sunnah.
  • Using Different Routes: Using different routes to and from Eid prayer is a Sunnah.
  • Congratulating One Another: Exchanging greetings and congratulations with fellow Muslims is a Sunnah.
  • Visiting Family and Friends: Visiting family and friends, especially those who are elderly or sick, is a Sunnah.
  • Giving Sadaqah: Giving Sadaqah on Eid day, in addition to Zakat-ul-Fitr, is a good deed.
  • Showing Joy and Happiness: Expressing joy and happiness in a halal and respectful manner is encouraged.
