Mosque
A mosque is a sacred place of worship for Muslims. Typically characterized by a dome and minaret, it is a serene and ornate structure designed for congregational prayers and religious gatherings. Inside, there is a prayer hall adorned with intricate calligraphy and often a mihrab indicating the direction of Mecca.
The Basics in Islam
The life of a Muslim does not end when he or she dies. It was just the beginning of an eternal life that is neverending.
In Islam, proper attire during Salah (the Islamic ritual prayer) is important to maintain modesty and respect for the act of worship. Here's a general guideline for Muslim attire during Salah:
For Men:
A clean and preferably white or clean-colored, loose-fitting garment is recommended. It's called a “thobe” or “kurta” in various cultures.
Men should cover their entire body from the navel to the knees at a minimum. It's ideal to cover the entire body with loose-fitting clothing.
Wearing a prayer cap (kufi or topi) is common but not obligatory.
For Women:
Women should wear a loose-fitting and modest dress that covers the entire body, including the arms and legs.
A headscarf (hijab) is required to cover the hair. Some women may also wear a face veil (niqab), depending on their cultural and personal preferences.
The dress should not be see-through or form-fitting.
Many women also wear a long cloak-like outer garment called an “abaya.”
For Everyone:
Cleanliness is essential. It's recommended to be in a state of physical and ritual purity before Salah. This includes performing Wudu (ablution) and having clean clothes.
Avoid clothing with extravagant designs or images that may distract from the prayer's focus on God.
